Percy Jackson Movies in Order
There have been many excellent book-to-film adaptations in recent years, including most of those within the Harry Potter franchise, and The Hunger Games series of films. For fans of the novels, these movies have proven to be extremely popular. But what about Percy Jackson? Author Rick Riordan has written five books in the Percy Jackson series, but only two of them have been realized on screen. 2010 saw the release of Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, and in 2013, there was a sequel; Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Both performed moderately well at the box office, with the first grossing $226.4 million and the second grossing $199.98 million. Admittedly, the second movie didn't see the same returns, but there was still some audience interest in the character. But that was then and this is now, and to date, there hasn't been a third entry in the Percy Jackson film franchise. This might be surprising, especially when considering the popularity of the Harry Potter films. Yes, the books are better, but the wizarding hero still dominated multiplexes everywhere during his ten-year run in the movie world. So, will there ever be a Percy Jackson 3? Or has he suffered the same fate as other fictional teen heroes, such as the recent Artemis Fowl, who are unlikely to return in a follow-up movie? Well, sorry to say it, but a third movie is unlikely to materialize. Here's why! Bad News For Percy Jackson Fans Via: SuperHeroHype For a time, a third movie was planned. It was to be called Percy Jackson: The Titan's Curse and actor Logan Lerman was set to reprise the lead role again. Sadly, the movie never happened, and it is unlikely that it ever will. Lerman even said as such in 2014 when he was interviewed by MTV News. When speaking about the films and the possibility of a third in the franchise, the actor said: "It's been a great experience for me. It's opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don't think it's happening." That was several years ago, and there has been no word on a third movie since. Lerman would be too old to play the character at this point anyway, of course, so it would need a brand new actor in the role. Still, it's fairly easy to understand why The Titan's Curse didn't, or ever will happen. For one, we need to consider the box office takings of the first two films. While both entries made a profit, they failed to reap the rewards of similar fantasy franchises. The first in the Harry Potter series made $974.8 million, for example, and the first entry in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings trilogy earned $871.5 million. While the first Percy Jackson film made a respectable $226.4 million, it clearly didn't have the same appeal as those other franchise starters that secured a fortune for its makers and stars. We need to consider the fairly poor reviews the Percy Jackson films

Since Hermes is also the god of fertility and mischief, it makes sense that he makes an appearance in a casino. Casinos are also home to musical spectaculars and headline acts. Given Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical background, maybe there will be a scene where he performs a song or has a musical-inspired scene. 2025-04-18Coming soon Updated Nov. 16, 2023 Percy Jackson and the Olympians Trailer Is Here, Thank Gods Mark your calendars, demigods. Disney+ is gearing up to release an adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians that will hopefully outdo the Logan Lerman film series. Not to be optimists, but we’re pretty excited for this trip to Camp Half-Blood. For one, the episodic nature of a TV show seems like it will fit the Rick Riordan series, in which the characters travel their way through modern-day versions of Greek myths. Also? They cast kids in the lead roles, as opposed to moody teenagers like the movie. Riordan has been much more involved in this version of Percy Jackson than the 2010 film adaptation. “They should censor the entire thing,” he tweeted about the movie in 2020. “Just two hours of blank screen. We’re gonna fix it soon.” As in, this time, he’s on set and posting about it on his blog. Below, everything the gods at Disney+ have shared about the upcoming series. On the Percy front, Walker Scobell is on a titular-role streak. First he was Adam in The Adam Project (technically one of two Adams with Ryan Reynolds), and now he’s Percy in the Disney+ adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Riordan announced the casting on his website. “I got to deliver the news to Walker personally via Zoom back on Jan. 28 that he had been chosen for the part,” he wrote, “and it was a magical moment that made me feel for the first time: ‘Okay, this is real. This is worth all the waiting and the hard work. This project is going to be amazing.’” Four months later, Percy Jackson (Riordan’s Version) cast its Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase. The official Percy Jackson series Twitter announced on May 5 that Leah Sava Jeffries (Empire) and Aryan Simhadri (Cheaper by the Dozen) have joined the official trio for the Disney+ show. Riordan blogged about the completed trio, promising fans that they “will do you proud.” Mr. Hamilton himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda, is playing the god with the best
